Rachana Construction Breaks Record Installing Largest PSC Twin Cell Box at Valsad ROB in 5 Days

M/s Rachana Construction Company, a leading bridge construction and infrastructure firm based in Gujarat, successfully executed a major milestone in the CPT-2 project by installing the largest PSC (Prestressed Concrete) Segmental Twin Cell Box on one adjacent side of the railway portion abutment. The installation involved handling a massive 2121 tons of materials and was completed in just 5 days by a dedicated team of 147 skilled members, commencing on June 3 and concluding on June 7, 2021.

The project deployment utilized four hydraulic road cranes—one with a capacity of 500 tonnes and three with 300 tonnes each—alongside specially designed multi-10-axle steel frame trailers for safe and precise placement. The installation took place at the Valsad Ancient Rubble Masonry Railway Over Bridge in Gujarat.

This significant achievement sets a new national record for the fastest installation of such a massive precast segment in railway infrastructure.

The CPT-2 project is being executed under the visionary leadership of Mr. Navinbhai I. Patel, Director of M/s Rachana Construction Company, on behalf of their client IRCON International Limited as a partner in the EFC Consortium, part of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC). The client for the project is DFCCIL, with project management consultancy provided by Oriental Consultants Global Consortium (OCG), including OCG, OCI, NK, NKI, and RITES.

This accomplishment underscores Rachana Construction’s expertise and commitment to advancing India’s critical freight infrastructure with precision and efficiency.
