“Polish Runner Sets World Record, Completes Marathon Barefoot on Frozen Norwegian Sea”

Polish endurance athlete Pawel Durakiewicz has once again stunned the world by claiming his fourth Guinness World Record title, this time for completing the fastest marathon barefoot on ice and snow.

Known for pushing the human body to extraordinary limits, Durakiewicz took on his latest frosty challenge in Golsfjellet, Norway, where he ran the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles (42.2 km) — all without shoes. Traversing jagged ice and crunchy snow, his frozen feet carried him swiftly across the frozen lake, as he battled sub-zero temperatures to reach the finish line in record time.

This remarkable feat adds to Durakiewicz’s growing legacy of barefoot adventures. Since 2024, the shoeless adventurer has been setting world records, including his epic trek of 3,409.75 km (2,118.72 mi) across the Iberian Peninsula, which earned him the title for the longest barefoot journey.

Speaking after his latest triumph, Pawel said, “It’s about testing the limits of what we think is possible. Running barefoot on ice isn’t just a physical challenge, it’s a mental battle against the cold, the pain, and your own doubts.”

His achievements have inspired a global community of endurance athletes and adventure seekers, proving that with determination and resilience, even the most extreme goals can be conquered.

With four world records now under his belt — and his bare feet — Pawel Durakiewicz shows no signs of slowing down, as he continues to set new goals and redefine the boundaries of human endurance.
