May 2025 — Dr. Vishwanath Panigrahi, a renowned environmental activist, has been honored with the prestigious “Limca Book of World Records Achiever Award” for his extraordinary participation in the IGEN Envirothon 2024. He remained actively involved in the virtual event for a remarkable 29 hours non-stop, earning the title of “Star Participant.”
Organized by IGEN India, the Envirothon 2024 focused on the conservation of Panchabhuta (the five classical elements — Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space) and aligned with the United Nations COP 29 theme. The global event saw enthusiastic participation from 29 countries, featuring 29 partners, 29 Indian states, 29 districts, and 299 speakers, who came together for a continuous 29-hour marathon of environmental discourse.
Dr. Panigrahi expressed his gratitude upon receiving the honor, highlighting the importance of such a global conclave in addressing urgent ecological challenges. “The Envirothon was not just a symbolic effort; it was a dynamic, solutions-focused platform tied to the essence of Panchabhuta and the international climate agenda,” he said.
During the event, Dr. Panigrahi presented several key environmental suggestions that resonated with the global audience:

- Establishing a separate Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) for the conservation of the sky and space
