In a spectacular display of artistic vision and precision, Soumyashree Hiremath, a talented artist from Kalaburagi, has etched her name in the record books by creating the largest 3D wall art of an elephant head ever made by an individual.
The artwork, measuring an impressive 6 feet by 3.1 feet, was officially recognized on December 7, 2023, and showcases not only Soumyashree’s remarkable skills but also her dedication to promoting Indian art and culture.
Soumyashree (born November 18, 1995) sculpted the massive elephant head using a combination of POP (Plaster of Paris) powder, acrylic paint, clay tools, and brushes. The result is a lifelike, textured, and vibrant piece of 3D wall art that captures the grandeur and strength of the elephant—an animal deeply revered in Indian tradition.
The project took weeks of planning, sculpting, and detailing, with Soumyashree blending traditional techniques with modern artistry to bring the majestic creature to life on a grand scale.
More than just a record-setting endeavor, Soumyashree’s creation serves as a symbol of strength, wisdom, and nature conservation. In a statement, she expressed her hope that the artwork would inspire others to pursue their artistic passions and appreciate the role of animals in Indian culture.
“I’ve always been fascinated by elephants—their grace, intelligence, and symbolism in our heritage,” Soumyashree shared. “Creating this piece was both a personal challenge and a tribute to the natural world.”
As the largest 3D elephant head wall art created by an individual, the piece not only set a national benchmark but also positions Soumyashree as a rising star in the Indian art scene. Her achievement highlights the creative potential in smaller towns like Kalaburagi and demonstrates the heights that dedication and innovation can reach.
Soumyashree’s work is a powerful reminder that art can transcend boundaries, blending tradition, skill, and imagination to leave an enduring impact—both on walls and in hearts.
