Azamgarh Sets World Record with Massive Tree Plantation and Pledge Drive to Promote Environmental Awareness

In a groundbreaking initiative to promote environmental conservation, the District Administration of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with the LOK DAYITVA Team, organized a massive “Save Tree and Save Environment” awareness and plantation drive, setting a New World Record for mass participation.

Under the visionary leadership of Shri Vishal Bhardwaj (IAS), District Magistrate of Azamgarh, the event witnessed an extraordinary participation of 421,125 individuals, including students, government employees, and local citizens from all across the district.

Participants took a collective pledge in Hindi to protect trees and the environment, reinforcing the critical message of ecological preservation. Alongside the pledge, a large-scale tree plantation drive was conducted, making the event both symbolic and impactful in its approach to sustainable development.

The event, held on 22nd June 2023 at various locations across Azamgarh, emphasized the urgency of environmental action and showcased how community-driven efforts can contribute meaningfully to the fight against climate change.

This historic campaign not only earned world record recognition but also established Azamgarh as a model district for green and sustainable initiatives in India.
