The inaugural Indian Table Tennis Marathon 2019 created history with an unprecedented 4,104 entries across 17 competitive categories, firmly establishing itself as one of the largest grassroots table tennis events ever held in the country.
Organized between 1st and 5th May 2019 at the Table Tennis Federation TT Hall, located at Sant Sujan Singh Ji International School, Swaroop Nagar, New Delhi, the marathon brought together a vibrant mix of participants—from young budding paddlers to veteran players—celebrating the inclusive and growing popularity of the sport.
The event showcased a wide spectrum of age and skill levels, promoting not just competition, but also community engagement, passion for table tennis, and talent discovery. Its overwhelming response reflected the surging enthusiasm for the sport across India.
Organizers hailed the marathon as a landmark moment for Indian table tennis, setting the tone for more such mega-events in the future, aimed at tapping and nurturing talent at the grassroots level.
