MP: Largest Drum Prepared, To Be Sent to Ayodhya on March 13… Aiming for World Record

In a remarkable cultural and spiritual initiative, Madhya Pradesh is set to make history by sending the world’s largest traditional drum (nagaada) to Ayodhya. The massive instrument, which has been meticulously crafted over weeks by skilled artisans, will be dispatched on March 13 with the aim of setting a Guinness World Record.

The drum, a symbol of celebration and devotion, has been constructed using traditional techniques, while incorporating modern design reinforcements to ensure durability. Measuring over 12 feet in diameter and weighing several tonnes, this colossal nagaada is expected to be the centerpiece of upcoming religious festivities in Ayodhya.

The initiative is part of a larger campaign to highlight the rich cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh and to contribute to the grand celebrations in Ayodhya. The creation of this massive instrument is also being viewed as a tribute to Lord Ram and an offering of devotion from the people of Madhya Pradesh.

According to officials, the drum will be installed near the Ram Mandir complex in Ayodhya and played during religious ceremonies and cultural performances.

More than 50 artisans from various parts of the state worked around the clock to complete the drum on time. Local communities participated enthusiastically, offering support, materials, and blessings.

“This is not just a world record attempt — it’s a matter of faith and pride for us. Through this, we want to showcase the devotion of Madhya Pradesh towards Lord Ram,” said a state cultural department official.

With this unique effort, Madhya Pradesh is aiming to enter the Guinness World Records for the largest traditional drum ever created. The record attempt is expected to be officially documented when the drum reaches Ayodhya and is ceremonially played in front of dignitaries, devotees, and record officials.
