In a historic feat for Indian table tennis, Manav Thakkar became the first Indian player to be ranked world No. 1 in the Under-18 boys’ category, according to the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rankings released in February 2018.
Thakkar’s ascent to the top spot marked a breakthrough moment for India in the global junior circuit. Consistent performances across international events, including ITTF junior tournaments, contributed to his rise in the rankings.
