In an extraordinary display of discipline, skill, and determination, Samyuktha Narayanan, a 7-year-old girl from Chennai, has etched her name into the Guinness World Records as the youngest certified Taekwondo instructor in the world.
With a black belt around her waist and a heart full of passion, Samyuktha has not only mastered the martial art but is now officially teaching students, many of whom are twice her age — and even older.
“I love Taekwondo because it makes me strong, focused, and happy,” said the young prodigy with a confident smile. “And I like helping others become strong too!”
Samyuktha began training in Taekwondo at the age of 3, and her rapid rise in the sport stunned coaches and examiners alike. By the age of 6, she had already earned her black belt (1st Dan) and had begun assisting in classes at a local martial arts academy.
Recognizing her rare combination of skill, confidence, and communication ability, her instructors supported her in completing an adapted instructor training course under the World Taekwondo Federation guidelines.
“She’s a natural leader,” said Master Arun Prakash, her mentor. “What sets her apart is not just her skill, but her ability to inspire others — children and adults alike.”
Guinness World Records confirmed her entry after reviewing her credentials, certifications, instructional videos, and testimonials from students and trainers. Samyuktha now holds the title of the “Youngest Taekwondo Instructor (Female)”, surpassing the previous record held by a 9-year-old from South Korea.
“Samyuktha’s achievement represents not only personal excellence but also a powerful message about youth empowerment and gender equality,” said Sophia Willis, Guinness World Records spokesperson.
The news has sparked celebration across India, with leaders in sports and education applauding the young martial artist. Social media has been flooded with congratulations and admiration, hailing her as a “Mini Master” and “India’s Little Legend.”
Samyuktha’s parents, both supportive professionals, credit her success to a mix of self-discipline, encouragement at home, and the guidance of dedicated mentors.
“She teaches us every day that age is no barrier when there is passion,” said her mother, Revathi Narayanan.
Samyuktha hopes to one day open her own international martial arts school for kids — “especially for girls,” she says, “so they can be strong, brave, and proud.”
With her incredible journey already inspiring countless young athletes across the globe, one thing is certain: this 7-year-old powerhouse has only just begun her journey.
