“Kolkata to Delhi on the Dribble: Japanese Man’s Guinness World Record Journey Reaches Varanasi”

In a journey that’s turning heads and winning hearts across India, Yuji Nakamura, a football enthusiast from Japan, has reached Varanasi on his way to setting a Guinness World Record — by dribbling a football all the way from Kolkata to Delhi.

Covering nearly 1,200 kilometers, Yuji’s goal is not just a place on the record books, but also to promote peace, endurance, and the universal love for football. Beginning his epic journey from the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata last month, he has now crossed into Varanasi after traveling through the bustling roads, rural paths, and unpredictable weather of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.

Crowds have gathered in every town he passes, cheering him on with chants and selfies. Locals in Varanasi welcomed him with flowers and drumbeats, impressed by his spirit and stamina.

“I’ve never seen this kind of energy,” said Yuji, juggling the ball effortlessly by the ghats of the Ganges. “India has been incredibly warm and encouraging. Every city, every child who dribbles with me along the way adds power to my steps.”

Guinness officials are closely tracking his route via GPS and witness reports to validate the record attempt. The journey is expected to end at India Gate in Delhi by early May, where a final ceremony will be held upon completion.

The footballer, who trained for over a year in the Japanese Alps for this challenge, is also raising awareness about healthy lifestyles, youth sports engagement, and global friendship through sport.

As Yuji Nakamura continues to dribble through the heart of India, one thing is clear — his journey is not just about setting a world record, but about connecting cultures one kick at a time.
