“‘Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyaan’ Makes History with Five Guinness World Records in First Phase”

India has achieved a remarkable environmental milestone as the first phase of the ‘Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyaan’ concluded with the setting of five Guinness World Records, underscoring the nation’s growing commitment to ecological awareness and citizen-driven environmental monitoring.

Launched by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), the campaign aimed to engage citizens across the country in large-scale nature observation, biodiversity mapping, and environmental data collection. The initiative, which ran for several weeks, saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, environmentalists, and volunteers from every state and union territory.

The records achieved during this phase include:

  1. Largest Biodiversity Mapping Drive in 24 Hours
  2. Most Pledges Signed for Environmental Conservation in a Single Day
  3. Largest Number of Nature Observations Uploaded on a Citizen Science App
  4. Biggest Simultaneous Tree Tagging Campaign Across Multiple Cities
  5. Widest Participation in an Environmental Awareness Webinar

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav praised the campaign’s success, saying, “This is a proud moment for every Indian. These records reflect our collective will to protect and understand our natural heritage. The youth of the country have truly led this movement.”

Over 1.2 million people participated in the campaign’s activities, with schools and colleges playing a major role. Data gathered during the initiative will be used to enhance conservation efforts and support scientific research on India’s diverse ecosystems.

International observers from Guinness World Records were stationed across key activity centers to validate and certify the achievements. Each record was met with enthusiastic celebration and acknowledged with official plaques.

The campaign is set to continue in future phases, with plans to expand into wetland monitoring, plastic pollution surveys, and local conservation action plans.

Environmental experts lauded the campaign as a game-changer. “It’s not just about records — it’s about awareness, engagement, and building a generation of nature-literate citizens,” said ecologist Dr. Meena Iyer.

As the country basks in this historic accomplishment, the ‘Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyaan’ has firmly established itself as a beacon of citizen-led environmental action on a global scale.
