The Narayana Group of Schools in Tamil Nadu recently celebrated 45 years of academic excellence by achieving two significant milestones: the ‘Longest Thirukkural Recitation Marathon by a Team (Multiple Venues)’ and the ‘Most Participants in a Spellathon at Multiple Locations.’
On September 22, 2024, a total of 7,827 students from Pre-Primary I to Grade VIII participated across 41 venues in India, cumulatively reciting Thirukkural for 342 hours, 13 minutes, and 3 seconds. This event underscored the institution’s dedication to promoting Tamil Nadu’s rich literary heritage and instilling universal human values among students.
In a simultaneous effort, 557 students from Grades I to V participated in a Spellathon across four venues. Each student spelled between 50 to 90 words within a five-minute time limit, showcasing their linguistic proficiency. The event emphasized inclusivity, with participation from special needs students and those who overcame personal challenges to attend.
Both events were officially certified by Elite World Records, Asian Records Academy, India Records Academy, and Tamilan Book of Records. A grand citation ceremony was held on September 28 and 29, 2024, at the Anna Centenary Auditorium in Chennai, where distinguished international dignitaries presented the titles to the Narayana Group of Schools.
These achievements highlight the Narayana Group’s commitment to holistic education, blending academic excellence with cultural appreciation and linguistic skills development.
