The Orlando Science Center in Florida set a Guinness World Record for the most people simultaneously launching paper rockets. A total of 262 participants gathered in the Dr. Phillips Cine Dome, each equipped with a paper rocket designed to fit onto a straw. Participants had three attempts to launch their rockets within a 15-second window. A flight was considered successful when the rocket flew upward or horizontally due to the air pushed through the straw.

An official Guinness World Records adjudicator was present to verify the attempt, and the Science Center received a certificate documenting their world record title, which will be noted in the 2025 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records.

This event was part of the “Science of Guinness World Records” exhibition, which was on display at the Science Center until January 6, 2025
