Maha Kumbh 2025 Sets World Record with Longest Hand-Print Painting for Cleanliness Drive

The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj has achieved a remarkable milestone by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest hand-print painting. On February 25, over 10,000 participants collaborated to create a mural measuring 80 feet in length and 5 feet in height at the Ganga Pandal in Sector-1 of the Mela area. This collective artwork symbolizes unity, social harmony, and public participation, with the central theme depicting the Samudra Manthan scene. The event was supervised by Guinness World Records officials, and the registration process for this achievement is expected to be completed within three days.

This accomplishment surpasses the previous record set during the Kumbh Mela in 2019, where 7,660 individuals contributed to a similar hand-print painting. The use of eco-friendly colors in the mural highlights the event’s commitment to environmental consciousness. Joint Magistrate Rajapalli Jagat Sai, the nodal officer for the program, emphasized that this effort serves as a tribute to the Maha Kumbh, conveying a message of public participation and social harmony to the world.

In addition to this artistic feat, the Maha Kumbh 2025 has witnessed other record-breaking initiatives. A synchronized cleanliness drive saw 15,000 sanitation workers participating across four zones of the festival grounds, aiming to break the 2019 record of 10,000 participants in a similar event. Furthermore, 300 sanitation workers made history by securing the world’s first Guinness record for a large-scale coordinated river cleaning effort across multiple Ganga sectors. These initiatives underscore the festival’s dedication to environmental conservation and public welfare.

The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 has not only been a spiritual and cultural congregation but also a platform for promoting unity, environmental awareness, and community participation on an unprecedented scale.
