Ujjain News: Following the call of CM Mohan Yadav, 1,500 damru players will set a world record during the third procession of Sawan. They will play the damru to the tune of Bhasma Aarti in Mahakal Lok and the procession.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s Call Leads to World Record during Baba Mahakal’s Procession
On the third Monday of the Sawan month, August 5, a world record will be set during the procession of Lord Mahakal. The procession will be a grand sight full of enthusiasm, joy, and devotion. In this procession, 1,500 damru players will perform to the tune of Bhasma Aarti, creating a world record. Special performances will be given by damru player teams from Bhopal and Ujjain along the Shaktipath of Mahakal Lok and the procession.
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday while expressing gratitude complemented the people for the unprecedented accomplishment of creating yet another world record ‘Damaru” ensemble after Tabla and classical dance (Kathak) performances. Dr Yadav was instrumental in spearheading this grand initiative.
The Guinness Book of World Records adjudicator Rishinath presented the official certificate of the world record for Damdu playing. Earlier on December 25, 2023, over 1,500 tabla players got registered in the Guinness World Records by performing tabla playing (in unison) together at the historical fort of Gwalior, MP.
Whilst the second feat was achieved by a group of 1484 Kathak exponents dancing on the rhythm of Raga Basant in Khajuraho, UNESCO world heritage site in MP, on February 20, 2024, to find mention in the Guinness world record.
