The newly launched Volkswagen Virtus has sped its way into the India Book of Records after EVM Motors & Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., the German marque’s dealer partner in Kerala, delivered an unprecedented 150 units of the sedan to customers in a single day. This achievement marks the highest number of single model sedans delivered in one day by a single dealership across India.
The Virtus, launched on June 9, 2022, is Volkswagen’s latest entrant in the premium midsize sedan segment and the second model built on the MQB-A0-IN platform after the Taigun. Offered in two trims – Dynamic Line (1.0L TSI) and Performance Line (1.5L TSI EVO) – the Virtus comes with multiple transmission options, including a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic torque converter, and 7-speed DSG. Prices start at ₹11.21 lakh (ex-showroom).
The record-breaking delivery event was part of a series of nationwide mega delivery programs organized by Volkswagen for the Virtus. In Kerala alone, EVM Motors & Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. and Phoenix Cars Pvt. Ltd. together have delivered over 200 units since the launch.
